Audio: 2 lavs + onboard

I need to use 2 lav mics as well as the onboard. I've been playing with the channel and input selections, but can't figure out the right combination. The lav mics are more important, so I'd like to be able to control those levels. I'll be recordiing in 1080i / 24P. I see in the Recording Setup --> 25M REC CH SEL it's blue and on 2CH. I'm thinking that's the culprit, as I need the 4 channels. Any direction greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Run the 2 lavs into mic1 & 2. Ch. 1&2.
The built in handle mic will feed ch. 3&4
All HD shooting on that cam is 4 ch.

When you goto ingest it into FC or whatever editor, you will see there are four audio tracks being recorded. The first two are whatever you select them on the camera to be, the other two are always the internal mic (unless the internal mic has been disabled in the menu, I use to turn mine off to avoid calls from confused clients when just handing off the footage). When you are recording/and reviewing footage back on the camera itself, you only are seeing ch1/2 though, but 3/4 will be there as well when you bring it into your editor.

Ok thanks. I don't have an NLE, but I have P2 Viewer. I can hear my Channels 1 & 2 from the lavs, but I can't hear Channel 3 & 4 from onboard. Is that also a standard limitation, or am I supposed to be able to hear it from the Viewer? I can see the Channel 3 & 4 bar graph moving within the Viewer.

It you can see the bars moving in the viewer for 3+4, then it should be recorded as it is showing you the information is there. It probably just not enabled in the playback on the viewer software. I am not too familiar with the software since I always just used final-cut.

You are correct. I changed the Channel Output within the Audio Monitor menu in P2 Viewer to Ch 3 + Ch 4 and can hear the onboard audio.
