Audi edit

Re: Audi edit

What is the purpose of this? Are you promoting the car for something specific?

My initial impression would be to use much more footage and make it a choppier edit with a variety of closeups and maybe make it a little more abstract. You could then reveal the entire car at the end.... It feels a little lacking in energy right now.

Re: Audi edit

Oh, wait a minute, is this the finished product? I would change a few things like DS said, I thought it was good but way drawn out: A car driving... more driving... etc etc. Its almost like watching NASCAR hehe

Break it up a bit, i know its a WIP tho, so just keep working on it, however for a WIP its looking good

Re: Audi edit

fellas...notice it says edit in progress at the end of the vid...its just some **** i threw together for my friend...its no where near done...i shot about 30 minutes of footage just messan around...and didnt really put much time to it...just thought id share on a visual note ...

purpose....= none...just some good lookin footage...its completely rough and wont be anywhere near anything soon...its a work in progress...

Re: Audi edit

The first shot and second shot were not as good as rest as their backgrounds were not very good. A suburban street and farm land look lame compared to the cool bridge over the water and even the dynamic area that had the trees rushing past the car. I don't know why it was even posted if it was that early in the editing process, there is a lot of cutting left with just what I saw there.
What is the purpose of the video? Is it spec work?

Re: Audi edit

Honestly fellas...do you even read the previous posts...
you are being way over critical...to reiterate on what the vid is about...NOTHING...its just a little project im doing for a friend, he asked for a video im giving it to him..thought i could share what i am currently workin on...i know its not much and its nothing amazing...i figured people here just wanted to see what others do with their dvx..ive only had time to shoot roughly 30 minutes of raw footage...i have about 1:40seconds of usable footage....i threw the clips on a timeline with some music...just to give my friend the idea of the possible look and content...

starting to feel sorry for even posting and the feeling of how worthless this forum is becomming...

ie...teh wackness

Re: Audi edit

keep cool Jourabchi 8)

Looked good. You have some nice source footage to work with. I agree with disjecta, you could use what you have to make a more abstract piece with quick cuts and messin' with effects in post.

I think everyone was giving some "constructive" advice. Keep it up and let's see a little edited material.

Was this in 24pa? Did you mess with any settings? These are the real questions.

Re: Audi edit

im cool...just wish people would take the time to read...

i understand the constructive criticism...its the repetative obvious statements that aggrivate meh...heh...

24pa..
one of my friends was drivin my jeep grand...and i sat in the backseat with the dvx on a monopod...quite difficult....i know i have a lot more to go...

setting wise:
detail: -2
color Temp: -2
master Ped: -5
iris Level: -2
gamma: Cine-Like
skin tone: off
matrix: Cine-like
V detail: thin
nd 1/8
f/16

im gonna shoot more footage this weekend and throw a polarizor on there ..get rid of some of that glare..

on the computer some of the car looks a little blown out but on a tv is looks normal....

Re: Audi edit

With all due respect, you should expect peoples' opinions when you post footage on this board. Even if it is a super rough edit, that's the time to get feedback so that you can go in maybe a different direction than you originally intended or that the way you are going about it is the right way, etc.

I'm not sure why you are almost offended by the comments that have followed. You can take them or leave them but don't get upset about it.

Re: Audi edit

all i was gettin disgruntled about was the lack of paying attention...read the post fully befor replying...

ITS A ROUGH CUT...for god sakes...
snide remarks just cause bs...constructive criticims and ideas i appreciate...

Re: Audi edit

When I posted my remarks, I did read your post. Nowhere did you state that you did not want any kind of feedback. People post rough cuts all the time here with the purpose of getting some impressions from others. I don't think any of the comments that followed where of a snide nature.

If you don't want comments on your work, don't post rough cuts. It's a simple as that. Just post when you are finished and you will save yourself a lot of grief.

This board does not function to offend people and I'm sorry that you have read it that way. The people who left comments actually took the time to look at your work and also took the time to comment. The next time you post something and don't want comments, please state that explicitly and there won't be any misunderstandings.

Re: Audi edit

man im not tryin to raise a ruckas...im just sayin people ...dont state the obvious...if you have a question ask it..dont assume...im not here to hate im here for suggestions and to share my knowledge...sorry if i have takin ure comments the wrong way...just got a little aggrivated....

...

p.s. bergock

any reply is better than no reply

>:( .. . oh dear

I feel slightly offended you took offence in the first place  ::)

Overall - its a bit bland even if its an edit in progress - we can only comment on what we see & you should be grateful that peeps took the time to view & post anything - even if a bit negative - whaddya expect buddy  ::)

The close up wheel shots are nice but after a bit of cc etc - im sure it will look much less bland ;D

keep working & post at a much later stage so we can offer some real criticism  ;)

P.s I am a robot & I speak logicaly

Re: Audi edit

It seems to me that Mr. Jourabchi was just sharing some footage to show us what he has been working on. No where did I see him say that this piece was the next star wars. Every project starts somewhere and this is just a start obviously, he even stated that in his original post.

PS…The video needs to explain the importance of jetsking in a bathtub.

Re: Audi edit

Well Im sorry - but we don't except anything but brilliance in epic proportions around here - just check out the " the sequel to my first movie " Its this level of hard work & dedication you have to aspire to !
Mr. Jourabch needs learn how to use his his dvx in a "lucas" like fashion before he post's these so called " working in progress " edits !!

The cheek of such a post !!

It should be un - posted at once & sent to a post house for cgi before it is even considered for this board   :P
