VaricamLT: AU-VCVF1 Viewfinder Firmware

Hoping someone can help me out with updating the firmware on the VCVF1 viewfinder for the LT. I have successfully updated the LT to the latest firmware (40.52-00-0.00), and then saw there was a viewfinder firmware available as well. My VCVF1 is currently on 1.04, and it looks like the latest is 1.10. I have followed the same steps as instructed to update the viewfinder but keep getting ERROR 8. I have reformatted/redownloaded a few times and keep getting the error.

Can anyone advise?
 
Thanks Mitch. They had tried some basic troubleshooting over the chat to no success, but the support rep said he will pass it along to the team and get back to me. Hopefully they are able to return with a solution!
 
Sometimes reverting FW and then upgrading one of the system's accessories works.

Please note that I do not know how this would affect any of the hardware above, but just sharing if you're anxious to hear any thoughts about a potential solution.
 
Good idea. I think there are firmware steps between my 1.04 and the current 1.10, so it may be that I need to step up to one of those first. I will wait and see what support says and then try that if necessary.
