Hey guys. I recently shot a wedding, with a GH1, Some Canon FDs, the Pana 20 and 14-140mm (not the best to mix these lenses, i know). Maintained my shutter all day at 1/50. Just curious if anyone had any initial ideas in attempting to mimic the color style of this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHEOF_rcND8

it also seems like they either shot in high shutter speeds, or emulated it.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

The basic impression I got was the maker was attempting to give a 'nostalgia' look, by desaturating, lifting the 'blacks/dark' areas to decrease contrast, giving the whites/light values an overall cyan cast, with perhaps some red/magenta 'fringing', to simulate faded color photographs, and the ever popular scratches and film tails effects... well, unless the clips were shot on film...

With some work with After Effects, you probably can come up with something similar.

Some of the 'adjustment' tools in AE are kind of clunky, but the only preset that I've found that's importable from Photoshop is the Curves tool. If you can get a still from your video material to look right in PS, using the Curves adjustment, you can save the preset and then import that into AE.

"magic bullet mojo" comes with an extra little filter called "misfire" great for deteriorating clean footage.

Magic Bullet "Looks" - a great plug-in with very intuitive interface in both FCP and AE. You can come up up with a lot of similar looks to Mr. Sharpe's vid-
