MOD PLEASE DELETE THIS THREAD SO THAT I DONT LOOK LIKE AN UTTER FOOL!
Okay, I'm stumped. I've tried everything I can to attach the lens hood so that it doesn't show at the corners when the lens is all zoomed out, but I always see a little piece of the hood in the frame at full zoom and can't find any way to adjust the hood to make it go away. What am I doing wrong?????
Only the left hand side is showing, top and bottom. The rhs is okay.

It appears to be the lens protector that is getting in the way. Dang, hadn't thought of that. Im using a Tiffen UV protector, not good.
