Atomos Samurai 1:1 Punch in

I bought my Atomos Samurai and have very much enjoyed the convenience of the prorez recording.
Now when I spoke to some one at the Atomos stand at the 2011 Smpte in Sydney I was told that there would be a 1:1 Punch in like on the hvx202 and many other cameras and monitors coming along in a firmware update. Is this something that any one else was told/looking forward to? I'm curious as I haven't heard anything since that first comment about it. Any one know anything about it???

They just released this notice about a firmware update (v3.0) coming at the end of the month. It apparently is going to add focus peaking, zebra, false color and blue only to the monitoring options and some more updates to the unit, but unfortunately I did not see anything about a 1:1 focus assist in this update, but I have heard before that they are working on it. You can read the notice about the update here:

On edit; Does anyone know when the DNxHD update is going to be available?

Here is what they told me on Twitter

@Atomos_News when do you guys start to ship the converters and DNXhD upgrade you announced last year?

@FrankGlencairn More DNxHD details at NAB.

Actually I´m a bit disappointed, seeing Atomos playing the RED game.
When you look at their website and press releases, you would expect that the Connect converters and the DNxHD upgrade
are available since donkeys years.

Also they say, you get the battery adapter cable, when you register your product.
Well, I registered months ago, but no cable, no e-mail response.

meh

In my opinion Avid codec needs AtomoOS 3.0 so they are releaising the new OS first (at the end of this month). If this is true we will see the avid codec in may. I hope only it will not have a strange color gamma

The way I read the press release, there isn't going to be a 1:1 punch-in. Instead it will offer focus peaking, which is the white outlining around objects that are in sharp focus.

1:1 would be awesome, but I don't think it's what they're doing. Would love to be wrong though.
