This is the first generation Ninja, but it still works great! I used it the other day on a shoot with my C100 and the results were excellent using ProRes HQ. All you need to do with 24p footage is do a simple real-time de-interlace with Compressor. If you're shooing 30p or 60i, no conversion is necessary. The battery life is also amazing; the two included batteries lasted for an entire 10 hour shoot! Shoots ProRes and ProResLT if you need them. Very similar to Hyperdeck shuttle in abilities, but the on-board confidence monitor and battery life is definitely a plus.

Feel free to ask me any questions!

I have heard that one should not use this with a DSLR? Why? Could you explain through your experiences with this recorder?

Great little recorder with excellent battery life. Only reason you shouldn't use it with a DSLR is that many DSLRs do not output a "clean" full-resolution video feed over HDMI. Depends on your camera but it worked great for me with a C100.

Also, this item has been sold.
