GH4 Atomos gets a GH4 today from Panasonic

So the Atomos Ninja, Blade, and Star won't recognize the record signal from the GH4? That's interesting. Did the record trigger work with the GH3?

No it works fine as a recorder but no start and stop trigger. The GH3 and AF-100 didn't either, but with the GH4's video features it's time to get the record start and stop trigger protocol out of the Micro HDMI. I believe the Sony A7s does.

I hear ya. F that YAGH. I want straight into the Shogun! At least they finally found something they like about each other. Ha! Sounds like a bad teen movie!

I had an AF 100 and the trigger worked fine for me. It's been a while but my Samurai worked flawlessly with the AF...
 
Don´t get too exited - the Ninja Blade can´t handle the 50p/60p output from the GH4, so it´s practically useless.
The lack of communication between Atomos and Panasonic is shocking.

Everybody should ask Panasonic to enable 1080p25 (/30p) HDMI output - now it is 50p and that can´t be handled by recorders.

We do need a firmware update that enables 25p and 30p HDMI output!

Time to start asking Panasonic that we would like that feature a lot.
