That is what these sound guys are telling me. Any input from people who have tried them? 8
Jarred can you move this to hardware. Sorry I'm on cold meds a little goofy today thanks! 8)
Ok just saw a picture of it on the B&H website. Does it need a powering device like the K6 or if I buy the AT897 I can mount it to the camera and be done with it?
As far as I know the phantom power or AA battery is all you need. But check with www.equipmentemporium.com to make sure. 8) By the way they have it for $299.00 if that helps.

That it doesn't need a seperate power unit like Sennheiser does. like there K6 goes with the ME66 mic. Two pieces. the K6 also works with other mics. 8)

OK. That's quite likely. The K6 is always a "two-unit" mic, because it has a preamp and separate capsule, independent on whether it's battery or phantom powered.
Why are you interested in the 897? Instead of what mic or for what application? Who recommended it and where?
It is a new mic on the market. I saw it at the Video Expo a month ago. And these two sound guys were raving about them saying they were as good or better as the ME66 so that was why I was asking if anybody has used one yet 8)
