At last... I took the plunge & Ordered an HMC40

Andrew? What are the limits of your 'flapping gums'?
Meaning... You get a novice buying a camera, with features thats over his/her head, whats your limit before you say "Thats it! You got your $50 bucks worth!"

And if purchased from you, is your company in a position to do same-day shipping? And will you only charge 'true' shipping costs or do you have a little 'handling' fee in there as well?
 
I don't understand why you are flaming Andrew? He just said he only charges $50 more than the big box companies for the HMC40 (So I assume $50 more than B&H), but for that $50 you get a personal experience with someone over the phone. I'd spend it to support the little guys. Hey, he's a DVXUser sponsor so I'd probably buy from him first to support this forum.

He seems like a stand up guy to me.

Okay... now that I see Andrews reply I get it. At first it looked like you were flaming him...heh.. Posts can be deceiving!

We have stock and we can ship same day if we get the order in enough time to process it and ship it out. True shipping. No fees. I hate fees.
Oh, don't test my ability to talk.:)

In all fairness for Andrew, as a buyer, we have a choice, go with a "Big Box Place" or go for the smaller places that offer better service.

The "Big Box Places" are moving lots of boxes, but won't offer as good a service as the smaller places. The smaller places do charge more, in this case $50, but compensate with better one on one service.

For the buyer who's unsure of what they might need OR if something goes wrong, the smaller places are the better choice. Yes it costs, $50 more, BUT that $50 gets you the extra help when you need it.

In my case, I studied this long and hard, so I knew exactly what I wanted. However, there is a bit of a gamble on my part... IF there's any kind of screw-up, I risk going through a lot more grief going with a "Big Box Place".

If I'm lucky, nothing will go wrong and the camera arrives this Thursday without any problem. HOWEVER, if there's a problem, I'm going to wish I spent the extra $50. That's the risk I took to save $50....

Bob: True assessment. I couldn't agree more.

Andrew: As I stated earlier, I'd always prefer to buy from the smaller guy. Its the 'small-town' guy in me. And to be perfectly frank, I can easily justify good customer service on this camera until I have my sea legs about me.

When I buy (and i'm aiming for friday), and if the price margin remains the same between now and then, you'll be getting my business.

Bob, congratulations on your purchase. If users like you didn't exist on this forum, it wouldn't be the best place ever to talk video. Speaking talking video, your youtube videos were entertaining. I really enjoyed the robot wars.
