FS7: assign button to switch to complex camera setting

Is there a way to assign the S&Q button for a bit more complex camera setting?

For instance the press the S&Q button for these settings:
shutter speed 1/425, frame rate 150 fps. (and picture cache??)

(As far as I know the S&Q menu only has the frame-rate option and not the shutter-speed). Would be nice to be able to switch fast from normal shutter speed and frame-rate to higher shutter-speed and frame-rate

Thanks

But with that option I cannot choose the shutter-speed/frame-rate combination I want.
Your solution would give 1/300 speed (with 150 fps). Or am I wrong?

There are no options in the ffs7 for setting up 'favorites' or suchlike.

Total 1980s design that ignores the world of apps.

I spend a lot of time on set yesterday peddling between 4k25p and 1080HD150p

Im just saying if you use shutter angle you save yourself a couple of clicks in the horrid menu as you only need to change iris.

The shutter angle you choose is your problem most stick to 180 unless they have reason not to.

Thanks Morgan,

I hoped I was the only one who spend a lot of time setting the camera. Good to know I am not alone :-)

I vaguely remember you might be able to build your own scene files (probably wrong title) for the SD card.

Usefully called 1, 2 etc.

I dont know if they hold info like shutter speed/rsolution.

I use the "All Files" for exactly the sort of 'mode changes' you're describing Sam (I think that's what you're referring to by scene files). It is also possible to give these custom names (gasp!). A few examples of mine are "4K@25", "4K@60", "1080@180", "1080@23.97" etc. The camera will need to reboot if you're changing from PAL to NTSC, but otherwise these 'mode changes' are pretty quick, and DEFINITELY a lot faster than having to change each setting individually.

I've also added the "All File" submenu into the user menu to reduce menu-mining to find it each time.

I'm pretty sure that the "All file" will also store/recall shutter speed/angle, H/M/L gain/ISO assignments, H/M/L NR on/off, and even custom WB settings, so do keep an eye on those too. ;-)

Cheers,

jason

If there is light and suits what you shoot, I keep the iris put and use the ND to open up two/four stops when switching to HFR. This is quick and consistent, esp. If you dont have exact aperture numbers because of adapters etc. For 180fps use 4 stops, for 100fps use 2 stops.

That's what I do on my F55(and my VariCam). I have a file built with EVERYTHING I want to switch to for a specific set-up(i.e: slo-mo) and I just load it up when I need to switch.
