This has been confusing me for a while.
I shot something on my DVX100B in normal mode. I was going to shoot in squeeze mode but it totally slipped my mind.
Anyway, I upload this footage in fcp with the setup as DV-NTSC Firewire basic and 29.97fps. Everything uploads and where there are timecode breaks I get a few different clips. When I drag the footage in, it asks if i want to change sequence settings to match clip settings and when I do, the sequence changes to 3:2. Why is that? If I click no the footage doesn't fit in the 4:3 sequence. I don't know so much about aspect ratios, so I wanna be sure this is ok.
That is confusion number one.
Number two. I have one clip that for some reason is at 16:9. I shot it in normal mode just like the rest and everything was captured at the same time, but this clip is stretched out, so when I put it in the timeline I have to adjust the aspect ratio. Any idea to why this is?
