The HVX is native 16:9, yes, even in SD 480i.
My question is, I am used to the DVX's letterbox and squeeze modes being non-native solutions--workarounds, really. Knowing Pany's penchant for re-mapping terminology across models, am I correct in assuming,
1. "squeeze" mode is the native 16:9 aspect ratio, and
2. "letterbox" is the 16:9, converted to 4:3 with letterbox bars tacked to the upper and lower portions?
A related question, and forgive me if this has been covered--searched and didn't see anything--when dubbing from P2 to tape, what options exist for mapping to 4:3 aspect?
