Just trying to get some tips. I did a shoot in low light a couple of nights ago. It was a live music performance in a club. I used 2 cameras the AF100 and a Canon D60 SLR.
On the Af100 I used lumix 14-140 zoom
On the D60 I used a canon ESF 18-155 zoom
I knew the light would be bad but i wasn't expecting the DSLR to outperform the AF-100 in the dark spots. I used the DSLR as a secondary camera about 30-40 feet from the stage just to get a wide shot of everything and used the AF-100 for close-ups and such.
The Canon seemed to outperform the AF-100 in the dark spaces. There was little to no artifacting on the DSLR, this surprised me and I'm wondering if my settings are off, maybe I need better glass. I'm just confused, the DSLR shots look really smooth and the af-100 looks grainy at best.
I know there are probably a thousand variables but any help is appreciated.
