GH2 arrived but Pal instead of ntsc

i ordered an ntsc version but a pal version arrived instead;in my country you can return it but in 48 hrs ,so I have 24 hrs to go to ask this questions thanks to all

1.my 2 gh1 hacked are NTSC, will conversion from pal( and i do not have any idea HOW) or a possible workflow for it, will it be painstakingly complicated? pls give me the best procedures without a loss of quality with my image ,i use FCP with a mac.....

2. what would be my nightmares trying to sync my clips from my hack gh1(ntsc) to my regular gh2 (pal) ? especially if i want my clips into 1080 24p ?

3. what about the GH2 hack ?

4.Should I just return it ? .......to make my life easier?

returned it last night, did not want to take a chance.....for what its worth, was it the right decision?
 
you've already returned it =) no point lamenting on it ha. im sure with iminent update of ptools you would have been able to just swap it from pal to ntsc. I was under the impression the current ptools allowed this already? maybe that was just english menu

Any of the conversion-in-post options would have cost you time, quality or most likely both and you were right to avoid them.

PTools for the GH2 is presently very much for beta testers, and when I last looked it specifically did not offer PAL/NTSC switching. Yes that capability might come tomorrow, but my guess it will more likely be weeks or even months before it does so in a fully stable version.

if i understood it right...... if i got the pal gh2 back ,all i need is to download the new ptool; and check the pal>ntsc and I am ready to rock and roll? all the 1080/50i becomes 1080/60i or 25p becomes 24p? pls explain

Ok then I got back my GH2 Pal for NTSC use. Its a long wait for an ntsc in my country so am crossing my fingers now.....and I trust mr. Kiselev i guess. now that ipowell has join the fray am expecting patches from him too. Spaciva!!!

just confuse when i download ptool 3.60 and the original GH2__v10
what patch or figures do i place aside from my concern which is PAL<>NTSC issue?? If there are no patches do we assume it is still the original default firmware but with PAL>Ntsc this time?

the GH2 PAL-modell has none 25pN, but 24pN!!!

if you switch to NTSC with the hack, then you have: 24pN, 1080/60i and 720/60i . . .
 
...........so therefore its safe to get a pal gh2 for NTSC use.Since the hack is the firmware that drives the hardware, can we assume to say that the gh2 hardware is the same but only differs in the software. That there is no inherently pal or ntsc hardware?

While we are on this topic .... I see people talking about the GH2 having "24P in a 60i wrapper". That's not correct is it? .... my understanding is that GH2's 60i is plain vanilla 60 unique fields per second, and the 24P is not wrapped in anything.
 
everything is going smoothly, i have merge my GH13 clips in ntsc with my Gh2 hack pal>ntsc. Gh2 is good, i can see the potential the moment the hack breaks thru the barrier it should.Right now I am getting a 35mbps average, i am happy!
