[FS: General] ARRI ALEXA [Classic]

I had to do a double-take when I saw this was still available...absolutely flabbergasted! :)

You're going to love the ARRI. The dynamic range, the color...unreal.

Bump, shipping this week, PM me, thank you.

I had to do a quadruple-take when I saw you were still trying to sell that thing. Bump!
Just kidding. I hope you find a good home for it.

I'll ask around with some of my buddies... If you do stuff with the workflow that suits this type of camera, it's just hard to beat the image that you can get so effortlessly out of an Arri. It's almost like cheating.

If it was an Amira, I'd buy it so fast that the money might catch on fire.

I think you're my only savior R&G...you're one of the only cats around here who rolls big and has that disposable income where a little Alexa on the side for you might be nice...rent it out as a budget option on the side...

P.S. I looked left...I looked right...I looked up...I looked down...I looked forward.

I did a quintuple-take when I saw this camera was still available.

Absolutely shell-shocked.

12-bit ProRes 444 with 14 stops of REAL dynamic range and godly color & skintones...an ARRI...unreal...

Bump. [Price update below.]

Eric is back, now. Of course, he may have already moved up to a miLF or A35…

I looked left - right - upward - downward - forward - backward...I did a sextuple-take when I saw this camera was still available...simply speechless.

bump

Alright, perhaps that's going to do it; last call before I take it to the scrap metal place next week, ty!

I am almost compelled to buy this just to relieve your suffering NorBro. But that is a big almost as I do not need it. You might get $10-$20 at the scrap yard. So fire-sale it at $50 :)

Maybe it will find a final resting place right next to the two Ikegami Betacams I threw in a dumpster when I moved in 2018.

It's a shame, friends :crybaby: ...not many people understand how good it is, a life-changing camera!

People see the footage and say... "Bro, is this a Hollywood movie?" :love4:

Economy...plus a handful of other factors, including a new generation taking over who wouldn't use anything over 2 lbs.

I would not have any lenses for it as well as not knowing anything about the recording, ecosystem, viewfinder etc... Cinema & one man band most often do not go together. But mainly I do not shoot too much content that would warrant anything over my recent Sony mirrorless. There was a time I would have been excited like I was when I got my first Varicam. Like Steve Martin in "The Jerk" - "things are going to happen to me now..." :)

Yeah, I hear you...it's really for people in those camera experimental stages in life.

I think most or many have a time when they go down that twilight zone of collecting/using/trying vintage cameras from the 80s or 90s or 2000s, or some want to try the yester-decade once $80K, $100K+ cinema systems (F35, Panavision, ALEXA, Varicam, etc).

You can certainly incorporate it into modern day production but it's more for the "we'll be here all day - in this building - shooting interviews with some random b-roll here and there" person.

As far as the rest above - just a general note for anyone - the camera is as simple as it gets. ARRI was actually a big inspiration for Blackmagic's UI/system. Most people don't need to go into the menu for anything because the panel has mostly everything you need. The highest-quality format is 12-bit ProRes 4444 and any viewfinder could be used with SDI. SxS cards can be found on eBay for a few bucks.

The camera takes V-mount batteries but I also have a pretty expensive power adapter that I would consider selling separately (great for studio/home use).

If all else fails, it's crushed metal by Wednesday.
