So I decided to try and piece together a reel of my DP work. About half of which I've also directed (half I haven't).

I would like some feedback. Also if you have any thoughts on maybe a re edit of it, don't be afraid to share, I'm not completely attached to how it turned out.

Hi armisiano. I really liked your reel. I'm afraid I can't crit the DP work because I don't know that end of it. But I was wondering what the music track is and could you recommend other music in that style? In the past I've found those specific styles difficult to locate.

I'm a fan of old French Accordion music. Literally look up French Accordion music and you'll find a nice little bundle of stuff like that. Also anything by Duke Ellington (classic Jazz composer) I think would work great for a reel (if you choose to "go rogue" and NOT use something industrial or indust/rock).
 
Great, thanks. It did sound French to me but wasn't sure if there were some Italian in there also. I never even thought to google 'French Accordian', some things are just too simple I guess, ha. That music has a great atmosphere to it.

I haven't been too big on jazz although I own the Chick Corea/Herbie Hancock double live album and like the jazz fusion bands and some of the bluesy styles and comtemporary, Oscar Peterson ect...it's been awhile since I've heard Duke Ellington, I'll have to listen to more.

Bump. Lookin' for some thoughts or critiques, maybe where I could tighten it up. Does it drag anywhere in particular?

I think maybe if I added a simple voiceover talking briefly about my visual style and what I look for in an image it would help things move along better.
 
where in San Diego are you?...i'm in North County...i've yet to find anyone in my area that's interesed in sharing ideas, possibly working on some things. let me know.
i liked your reel, though, in parts it would have been nice for you to have included the audio/dialog, more like a movie trailer, you know?

PM me if interested. i haven't worked on anything scripted, but I am experienced with the Canon XH-A1...
