On a recent wedding I shot, there was 10 minutes of video at the start of the ceremony which had pretty significant video drop outs. I'm hoping that the footage is still salvageable by some sort of software plugin.

I've posted a link to the video (WMV 8MB) here:

http://tinyurl.com/yp3oqv Please tell me that it's fixable! :crybaby:

This wedding was filmed the week after a scheduled cleaning at the local *panasonic certified* video house. I really don't know if the cleaning has anything to do with the dropouts, but I've never had any problems like this on my DVX, which only has 180HRS on it.. I've gotten the head clog warning indicator several times thereafter and I've taken it back but they found no problems. However, I don't think I can trust the heads anymore, and I'm leaning towards a head replacement... at 180HRS!

I've been using consumer grade Panasonic DVC tapes from tapestockonline.com ever since I got my DVX 4 years ago. I've also ONLY used brand new tapes and never use the DVX for playback. Perhaps I received a bad batch of tapes from tapestockonline.com?

The video house recommends me to use Panasonic MQ tapes exclusively, but I thought as long as I stick to one kind of tape, I'm okay.. maybe that's not true?

Your thoughts are appreciated...

I don't do this, Well, Ive only done one wedding, But Always check and record some stuff before you shoot...This is there amazing day, you dont want to mess it up, so do tests before! I gatta start this to!

Looks like your heads are still dirty...id sew

try rewinding the tape and importing again. Sometime (not always) but sometimes some of them will go away.

Same thing happened to me recently with my A1 and pannyPQ tapes I used a head cleaner tape and recaptured no problem so try cleaning your heads
