are you watching your fs100 footage on 720p or 1080p teevee?

are you watching your rushes on your edit monitor or the BIG screen?

if the BIG screen, are you watching 720p or 1080p?

(i need to purchase a new teevee and wondering if 720p is "enough".)

thanks in advance.

We have a 720p tv......its kind of a cheapy lg type. I will tell you that for the best indication of your 1080 footage that a 1080 tv would be best......however i would also say that the dslr footage viewed on our screen has looked pretty good.

Think of it in monitoring terms. Many filmmakers aren't monitoring their work in full hd, yet can still get an accurate depiction of what they are shooting.

All that aside if you can afford 1080, get 1080......although i would say that a high end 40" 720p tv will be noticeably better for what you want than a low end 1080 at any size.

Last note..........don't make my mistake and buy 32", get 40" or more....lol.....still regret not soending the extra 100 bucks on 40 inches, ha, ha.

TV prices now piss me off considering I paid $1800 bucks a few years ago for a big 50 inch plasma (which exploded a few months ago)!

Look at it this way you can now replace it for cheap :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

On topic I generally view everything on my iMac monitor
as it closely matches what the content really appears to be.

I also use my two 23" LG Monitors (1920x Native Res) ones
matte and ones glossy to get a different perspective on
the content.

i learned the monitor lesson the hard way!........I edit using vegas on pc. Bought an acer 1080p monitor. on sale.....and it blows out everything, so everything looks lighter than it is.......as it goes now i have to do all these pre-render tests and view it on my macbook pro, until the levels look right....grrrrrrr.

Next purchase?........good monitor ha, ha.

whether its 720 or 1080, quality is most important factor.

I have a 42" TV, which is 1080p that I edit with. Much better than the MacBook Pro screen, that's for sure.
