the 1000s are really large lights.. for a small room the 650s should do you well, it will be much more controllable and operatable.

the total is a wierd little light so its hard to compare, that thing spills alot of light all over the place, the Britek is a lot more controllable, with focus and real barndoors. You probally will notice a stop or so between the two examples though.

I am very, VERY satisfied with the Britek lights. I picked up a pair of 650 softboxes & a small 250 (or 200... I can't remember off the top of my head) watt light... and I love them to death. I'd pick them over my Omni's & Tota's any day of the week. The Heavy Duty stands are VERY nice for the price ($37, I think). I have many lesser stands that I paid twice that much for.

Once you get used to the fact that the softbox is a little tough to put together (most are) & that the rods are going to bend... then you're fine. And I've had no problems with the rostronics people... I've always gotten very quick responses.

My next light purchase is DEFINATELY going to be from them... as soon as they have the 1,000 watt softboxes in again.

I've been exceedingly happy with the two places for gear that I've learned about from this board-- Rostronics & EVS. ;D

It would not be so bad if the company emailed me back about buying a replacement bulb. But, so far it has been a couple of weeks and no word. Which is an overall disappointment.

The light was nice for those ten minutes.
