Are these Batts Dead?

I had a couple of batteries that got a little wet (not submerged) on the contacts for an hour or so. After they dried out, there is a little bit of green gunk on the contacts. (See pic). Are these batteries dead? I'm not crazy anxious to throw them on my camera until I hear from someone about it.

Thanks guys!

There fine. Just a little oxidization. Clean em off (you can do it with battery cleaner), let em dry & they are good to go.

Happens when battery terminals are exposed to condensation.

(I vaguely remember my 6th grade science teacher advising us on this very issue).

Yep, that is verdigris----copper oxidation. Looks like your terminals have worn through the gold plating to the copper. Get some terminal cleaner from radio shack---you be fine. Oh and use a toothbrush (on the terminals that is :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)).
Speaking of terminals, might also want to inspect the terminals in your cam and battery charger. Verdigris WILL migrate into places you can't get to if you let it. If you do clean anything else, use a different toothbrush.
