Are there any 60FPS samples online yet?

Just want to make sure I didn't miss anything here.
Are there any slow motion clips online that we can download?

I'm surprised we didn't see that on the first day.
60FPS is the one thing this camera has on virtually every other video camera on the market (minus the varicam). I don't know about you guys, but I'm chompin at the bit to see some samples of it.

That's funny you should mention this. I was thinking the very same thing as I was staring again at our recent footage.

The 24P motion blur looks good, and the frames with little motion look like a high quality still shot. Just imagine frame by frame looking as sharp as the one before!

I'd like to see ANY new footage... so far of the three official samples, we've had a 720 24p QT file encoded at the wrong frame rate, and a 1080 file with 3:2 pulldown problems. The only properly created footage was the wm9 sample.

If I was to play Devil's Advocate here, I'd have to say the "workflow" for this camera is anything but simple, considering 2 out of the first 3 attempts to distribute material by the best people out there had operator error issues. :)

Another point.. when the time comes to show us "raw" files... how raw do we want? Straight from the camera files would only be usable if your NLE can specifically handle P2 files. A better option is or at least in addition to, would be to convert into QT DVCPRO and then everyone can access them... if you're on the Mac, FC will handle them, and if PC then the free codec from Avid will allow you to frame-by-frame it, or do your own conversions. My two cents.

Jim... why convert an MXF file to QT DVCPRO-HD when it is already natively encoded to that... if you want QT to specifically recognize the movie data, change the .mxf to .mov no re-encoding necessary.

This should work on both mac and pc. if you can open it in the QT player.. then any program utilizing quicktime will be able to play it... it isn't just limited to using in FCP.

Hi, there was for a small amount of time a 427meg clip uploaded called "1080_native" with no file extention. I'm assuming that was a MXF file. Renaming it on the PC to .mov didn't work, it would only show a white screen, and this was with the Avid codec installed. Maybe the clip was corrupt or something, I hope what you're saying is workable for the PC!

Okay, I've sent Jarred a 720p slow-mo 60fps clip. He'll update it when he has it on the right server, etc.

This clip will show the motion, but it shouldn't be used to judge detail, as it's been resized twice and recompressed once...

... man, I gotta get a native P2/MXF editing solution! :)

Barry,

On the SD side of things (DVCPro50), if you'll forward the native MXF files, I'll encode some for you.

Me too. I can import SD native P2 and output whatever. FTP site for upload available via private request...
