Are the Sony HDV models good enough for doc work?

This is DVXuser.com and it is no surprise that I am really after the HVX200. But I think I just landed an AWESOME opportunity on a documentary.
I'm thinking of a Z1 as an "A" camera and the new A1 as a "B" camera.
I use vegas 5, but can upgrade to 6 if I get these cameras. I have After Effects Pro 6.5 and I'm seriously considering the Magic Bullet Suite 2.0 to pull a 24P image from the footage. Even though Magic Bullet is slow and expensive, I want QUALITY and Jarred article between Vegas 6, DVFilmmaker, and Magic Bullet show me just want I need.
This footage for this doc has to start real soon. It possible can start after the release of the HVX200, BUT we will be missing a lot of opportunity to get some good footage.
I'm just trying to keep the highest production value I can for the least amount and with the timing and availablitly of right now.
I know the HVX200 will "smoke" these cams, but I don't want to drop the dough on these if it is a COMPLETE waste.
Do you guys think the HDV footage being pulled from these cams and Magic Bulleted will give somewhat a good image?
Am I going to be pulling my hair out using these cameras or editing the footage?
If any one is using the products mentioned above, PLEASE give me your professional advice. You will be saving me thousands of dollars!!

If you are doing a doc, you will appreciate recording to tape. I'm sure the Sony will be fine for your purposes. Look at "murderball" shot with worse cams than that....they can do a lot in post now.
