Are the A7 and A7R just as good for video without high ISO? Or no?

We're all talking about how awesome the A7S is for video, especially with the amazing ISO performance that sort of makes this a ground breaking product. But what about the A7 and A7R, which are supposed to be similar generation products without the super-sensitivity?

I'm asking because I'd rather have more than 12Mpixels when using it for photography, and would gladly trade in the 6-digit ISO performance of the S for the ability to do double-duty video and stills with decent resolution.
Do these models differ in video mode beyond the ISO performance?

I answered this in the other thread. Again, short answer is no, the A7 and A7r have inferior video by a long shot, anytime you increase resolution on the sensor you force it to throw away information which will (at least with current technology) make the video image quite a bit worse.

Got it. Sorry, WallRC, I started writing this before you responded to that one. Figured it was worth its own thread, since I'm probably not the only one who wondered.

I'll add my "not even close" answer, with some details as to why:
* much cleaner and detailed image (no line-skipping)
* much better DR (slog2 and the other advanced gammas)
* much better codec (XAVC-S)
* 4K out
