Are genuine Af100 batteries bought from US able to be charged on Australian charger?

As title states, I'm looking at buying some spare batteries from B&H as they are half the price locally, but can anyone let me know if they would work on an Australian charger?

Batteries are DC. They dont care... as long as your charger is suited to your countries mains AC current

I am 99.999% certain that the chargers are all the same, and the only thing that changes is the actual power cord. So I am 99.999999999999% certain that the batteries can be used interchangeably in any territory's charger.

Matt and I can understand why youre looking elsewhere. Batteries here cost around 2.5 times US price.

Im due though to pick up a first run manufacture test battery locally made. Will let you know how it stands up.

You can consider making your own off board battery units from Model aircraft batteries (approx 4800 - 5000 ahr) and use the Power connector cable from the power supply unit.

I am doing a few of those soon.

I will use canon connectors.

Each battery will be about $110 NZD and worth it even though lower capacity.

Thats like $200 AUD retail. A lot closer to the US retail of about $150. That I can deal with.

I just had a local quote of $330 on special. I was surprised when the camera price itself wasn't inflated by too much, $5400 A$

Matt, the issue at hand is whilst Rob Myers at Panasonic has ensured us good pricing on the camera, the batteries are dealt with by the consumer division.

Globalmediapro.com has them for AU$195 plus shipping. or 10 pack for $1900.00 !!!!!!

I have bought them for my HMC 150 from them before.

Cheers,

Vaughan

Vaughan the issue I have with global media pro is that its a grey market outfit. Ive read many stories of repairs needed from them on cameras where they wouldnt do a thing. They may have an Australian Bank Account which makes them seem "Australian", but I can assure you they arent.

That said, with batteries i see less of an issue as I cant recall a shot battery. But TBH if theres a legit outfit in NZ selling them for $5 more a battery Id rather go that route. At lease you can easily ship defects back should they occur, and get them replaced.

Hi Guys,

Yes our local price on the VBG6 battery is not very competitive. It has not been adjusted for some time and we are endevouring to correct the price. We'll get this fixed as soon as we can.

Matt, I have four genuine Panasonic VG-VBG6-PPK brand-new sealed batteries for $150 each. I also have two brand-new IDX Dual chargers (110-240v autoswitch) for $150 each. You can email me from my website if interested.

Cheers,
Peter
