Lots of options, obviously.
I've been looking at some of the new interchangeable lens Sonys. And it seems like they have a pretty sound foundation. I feel like I could buy a little Sony and progress with their cameras.
But I'm also in the Canon camp, which pretty much means DSLR for anything on the low end.
I'm interested in special effects, which I know is all about the Raw, but for anything I make on a scant budget, the extent of the special effects will be PC oriented, so I'm not sure I need to worry too much about that in near future.
The one major upside I see with DSLRs, especially living in a densely populated city, is that I can aim the camera pretty much anywhere, and people will seem to respond differently to what they perceive is a stills camera opposed to what they perceive as a camcorder.
Obviously that brings the Black Magic into play on both fronts (including Raw), but the Phillip Bloom review kind of turned me off to the current model. Also, it's more expensive than would be some of the other options (though it's a great price).
What would be your advice be today for someone buying their first low price prosumer camera? Strictly for video.
Thanks
