archive compression

i'm deleting old FC files and their corrosponding source footage files.

But before I do that, I want to compresss the finished projects in the most "appropriate" way, so that I may go back at some point and recompress them for whatever need i might have (to then post on a website, make a dvd out of, etc.).

File size is not too big of an issue. I'd rather have one big master MOV than a bunch of scattered files and source footage folders.

Please let me know what quicktime settings you use when creating a master to archive...

thanks!

I personally use MotionJpeg A or B depending on the type of film it is. you can try both and look at the comparisons. I make sure to use the highest quality settings and I find it to look great. It is a little bigger than a DV-AVI file, but I find it looks much better and is easy to recompress again from there. That is my personal choice, others may say something differnt, but I have had great success with this technique.
