Aputure Light Storm LS 1s Review

Tenba have a range of cases which are rated for flying. The one at the link does look like one of those. I have one for an iMac. It is very robust and has a very strong outer core of something strong. Having said that I have never flown with one so.....

+1 for Tenba. I don't own the linked case, but have several other Tenba products and they are always very good quality.

Hmm...I wouldn't risk it for me. It would be good to hear from someone who has put fragile lights into one and flown with it multiple times. I find airlines can destroy pretty much anything, even ATA flight cases that you can hit with a sledgehammer. FWIW, the Pelican/Storm 1610 is the same exact price and has a lot more room, handle and casters. https://www.amazon.com/Pelican-1610...8&qid=1479185602&sr=8-1&keywords=Pelican+1610

If yer puttin' it on an airplane and it ain't in a Pelican..... Odds are a tragedy is in your future.

I would note that the Tenba weighs 6.8lbs while the Pelican weighs 19.5lbs. Pelicans go over the 50lbs limit very quickly. If the client is paying for it, then certainly the hard shell Pelican offers the greatest protection. But when you're talking about very lightweight gear such as these LED fixtures, the Tenba will protect them pretty darn well even if the baggage handlers drop them out the side of the plane to the tarmc 20' below. Ask me how I know.

I fly with this case all the time with 3 aputure ls1 panels and 1 1/2, never any problems and everything fits snugly. Pelican cases are much heavier and can't bring the same amount of gear

Impressive! Nice to hear from someone who has done it and had good results. Yes, the Pelican/Storms are heavy. I have mine packed with the two LS 1S and usually a single Arri 150 fresnel for a hair light, a lot of accessories, C47s, Duvetine and it is right at 49.5lbs.
