APS-C Crop on FF for Video

I have the a6500 & planning to upgrade to the a7III.

Can I use the APS-C mode for video, without any decrease of performance/quality than if I were to use FF mode?
For 4K & 1080p/120fps

The reason I am asking is that I want to get the most range from the zoom lenses I would be getting.
I would have FF lenses, but using the camera for its crop for video use.

This is just an idea of mine.
I like the range the crop sensors have with the zoom lenses so I thought it would be good to have that range for run n gun filmming.

**I would probably use FF mainly, but if I need that extra range without swapping lenses then Id switch to Crop.**

On paper, you want to use the FF mode for the 'best' quality, but in reality you (and millions of others) probably wouldn't notice a difference.

Switching to the S35 mode is a common practice for those that would like a little more reach with their lenses.

There's about a one-stop difference in noise (so, for example, ISO 6400 at FF has the same noise as ISO 3200 with APS-C crop), but I think that's about it. Haven't used it though, so I'm not 100% sure, maybe there's another catch I haven't heard about.
