My wife and I serve as an ambassador family for the March of Dimes. Having lived through our own 3-month NICU experience with our twins, I know how scary and difficult a week you must be having!
Miracles happen every day in the NICU, and I know that you certainly must take additional comfort in the arms of your doctors, nurses friends and family. If you would like to talk at any time, please consider my wife and I at your disposal. Our family's thoughts and prayers are with you and your's!
Kai, I was afraid to read this post in fear of something like this. My stomach has a knot in it now. I know exactly how you feel I went through something similar with my daughter when she was 4. You never want to leave because your afraid something might happen when your gone and you feel like each day may be your last with them. I was in school at the time and I tried my best to keep going but i just could not leave. My prayers go out to you and your family.
Serious intercession coming from this end of the world, Kai. May the Lord keep his hand over your little one and sustain her. I have a 3 month year old Ella myself, and I have learnt how to appreciate even simple a breath too . . . so from my heart comes my prayer from a father, for a father to our Father.
..kai. my family will be praying for you. stay strong. and keep your faith. i can only imagine what your feeling like, but my heart goes out to you. take care and remember to be thankful for all the great care available for your daughter. i pray you have peace in place of fear and unrest and trust and faith in place of doubt. take care man.
Thanks so much (again) for all the support. It's been so amazing to have you guys behind us like this. The latest news is that she's doing much better. They've removed the feeding tube and oxygen feed so she's eating and breathing on her own now. We do have to give her occassional oxygen when her saturation drops (pretty often), but at least she's breathing on her own now. She's had a few apnea episodes lasting about 25 seconds or so, but not nearly as bad as before. She's definitely making progress, and the doctors have said hopefully we'll get to go home in a few more days. I know it's from all the prayers you guys sent her way, & I'm forever greatful.
Thanks again, and i'll keep you guys posted as it develops
