Apple's Color on the imac?

I was wondering if anyone uses a 24" imac with Apple's Color, and how it performs? I shoot on a dvx100b, so it's only SD material I'm wanting to grade - will the higher end imacs be fine for this or do I need a mac pro?

Also, I have heard that for the dvx feature "Land of Plenty", they "uprezzed" the SD cut to HD, and graded that. I have no idea what "uprezzed" means, could someone please explain it to me and if I should be doing that for my SD material to get the most out of color?

Cheers!

What is an "iMac Pro?" Apple sells MacPros and MacBook Pros. No iMac Pro, however.

Color is based upon video card capabilities.

Check your card against the requirements for Color at Apple's web site.

Thanks for that. Any advice on "uprezzing" Sd to HD for grading, or is this only if you want to convert it to 35mm?

There's no need to uprez your footage unless you are going to deliver the final product HD or for a film out.

A problem you are going to encounter though is accurately monitoring the changes you are making in Color. You iMac's monitor is not suitable for judging picture quality and Color doesn't support sending out a signal via FW like FCP does. You only other option is the Matrox MXO. I didn't see the 24" iMac listed as a qualified device, but that doesn't mean it won't work. I'd contact Matrox and see if that iMac works, but just isn't officially supported.
