Apple Video Ipod?

I made a video for a club and they want to stream it onto their monitors using a video ipod. The problem here is they want to know if they can switch between a photo slide-show and videos without actually accessing the ipod itself.

I don't own one so i cant actually verify this but i'm curious if thats not possible then is it possible to play several movies and have them loop? Then i could just make a simple movie of their photos fading to other photos.

Let me know if you have any suggestions.

thanks.

Can't currently switch between slideshows and videos, so go ahead and make videos from your slide shows.

If encoding the ipod videos from apples compressor, results are best when tweaked slightly. Under the ipod video settings:
In the encoder subsection set size to "640 VGA"
In the frame control subsection set frame controls to custom and then put everything on best.

The encode will take much longer, but it will then be jaggy free and look every bit as good as dvd on a NTSC television. And still pretty good on an HDTV.

If you want the videos to loop you will have to tag them in itunes as music videos under the same artist. Tagged as Movies probably won't work, and tagged as television show definitely won't work. (the ipod will stop playing at the end of the first video.)

With a set of AV cables, a Video ipod is a cool way to show off a demo reel to a potential client, or employer.

forgot to mention that you would also want to max out the available bit rate once you have set to the larger size. :)

thanks for the tips guys, i'll see what i can do :) It would be a lot easier if i actually owned one but i really want them to make one with a bigger screen.
