apple shake 4

im bout to buy and i was just thinkin bout goin with apple shake 4 instead of after effects. its half the price, yet from what ive seen a better program. it is used by real hollywood studios to make real movies, such as lord of the rings, and king kong. am i missing somethin here, or is shake really the better way to go?
 
What are you planning to use it for? Shake is great for compositing. But it's not a motion graphics program. Of course, you probably have that with Motion. I've been very happy with Shake for what I've used it for.
 
Is it good for like, rotoscoping?

Like shooting something greenscreen and then filling it in with a blurred background, and then using the program so that the background moves in sync with camera movements?
