Apple Computers

I'm strapped for cash and was wondering if I can edit HD with VEGAS and the:

Apple Mac mini M9686LL/B (1.25 GHz Power PC G4, 512 MB DDR SDRAM, 40 GB Hard Drive, DVD/CD-RW Drive)

Vegas is PC only software, though you could buy/build a much faster PC for the price of a Mini (G4) Mac.

Yes you can edit HD with vegas ... but don't expect to drop QT HD files in it and have it playback 29.97 ...

Sorry I meant to ask if I can use the mac mini to edit hd with FCP. I want to buy the mac mini. Will it handle the files?

[Norm Sanders]

Um, did you know you posted this in the Vegas forum? May want to move this to FCP.

New to the internet?

I wouldn't recommend the Mac mini for editing HD. You could get away with it, but you need an external FW400 drive and max out RAM...it won't be anywhere close to realtime...but, I use a G5, so I've never tried...
