Aperture stopping down in full M

I can't seem to figure out whey my GH-1 is not doing what I wanted. When I zoom in the lens seem to be stopping down aperture even though I'm in full manual mode. I'm using stock GH1 lens. For example if you watch this video he's zooming in to the clock but exposure doesn't change.

When I do this on my camera I'd get this weird exposure shift and I can even hear aperture stopping down. I don't have my video sameple but I'll post it soon. Any idea?

The stock lens is not a constant aperture lens. At it's widest it is F4 but when zoomed in it's a minimum f5.6. Positions in between will be somewhere in between F4 and f5.8. Constant aperture zoom lenses are more expensive to manufacture and always physically larger too. If your setting is already f5.8 or greater then there is no need for the aperture to change. If you are less than this then it will change to match it's current minimum setting.
