Aperture control without electronics of EOS lenses...

Has anyone tried this. It doesn't control the EOS lenses' aperture like the pending one from Birger Engineering it has an iris of its own. For $125 plus $15 shipping.

Looks like enough blades for good bokeh. Won't work with really wide EF-S lenses though.

The problem you will run into is there appears to be glass covering the aperture blades. This glass will cause additional diffraction depending on the quality of glass. (though it may not be evident at 2mp)

I figured this thread would pop up in both places, since AF100 and GH1 peoples will be searching in different places.

I didn't see the other thread before, and it might be semi duplicative, but I've looked at all the close up pictures and don't see any glass, but even if I did one old trick as a diffuser was putting nylon stocking over the end of the lens. What ever diffusion you got from glass isn't likely to be much for lenses made for ten times the resolution.
