AOL Revenge

MY GOD THAT WAS COOL!!! Haha. Burn that CD. Who in their right mind wants to use it for its intended purpose anyway right. Good little video. It was a get away for me. Man I used AOL back in the 2.0 days. Lol.

Downloading now. Speaking of Tesla. Has anyone done any research on Tesla? That guy is a movie waiting to happen. He had a very interesting life. It helps when you're a little crazy and surrounded by electricity.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!! That **** is fukcign awesome! hahahahah

Hopefully an AOL representative doesnt watch that video....they'd be crushed...hahaha

yep

Yes, that was real. The 'Denver Mad Scientists' have a monthly tesla coil meeting, whereby we get together and fire up all sorts of unusual hardware. Tesla coils figure prominently in such gatherings. We were doing things like putting ferrous rods on the coil to see what type of spark patterns they would produce, when someone said, 'Hey - I bet this old AOL disk is conductive at these energy levels!' Note that inside the disk, the aluminum layer was fragmented, due to age and use as a coaster, so you get to see a lot of arcing between the fragments, as well as energy bleed into the atmosphere. The internal arcs generated enough heat to melt down the disk. It is probable that a new CD would have been able to last a lot longer, because it wouldn't have the same heat characteristics.

What is interesting from the DVXUser forum standpoint is the low light level performance of the camera.

This is really neat, I remember seeing it a while back but cant remember when. Heh talk about "burning a cd". Oh I am just throwing these cheesy jokes around today...
