ive heard AND experience the gamma shift bug, but only in post production and because of codecs that relate to the h.264, but if its straight from the camera into my PC will there be any gamma shifts?

I'm not exactly sure what you are asking here.

Are you asking

1) if 'anything' that shoots AVCHD has a gamma shift problem
or
2) if 'everything' that shoots AVCHD has a gamma shift problem?

I'm importing (via log transfer) in to Final Cut Pro and don't see any gamma shift problem. Make sure your monitor is color profiled otherwise you may not be looking at the true colors/gamma on your screen. That could lead you to 'think' there is a problem when in fact the problem is how the monitor is displaying things.
