anyone with a professioanl Panasonic camcorder in Hawaii

I just bought a DVX from BH Photo. I live in Hawaii and the prices on the island are a few hundred more than on BH. I just came to find out that there are no authorized service centers here on the island. I love the camera and don't need any service at this point, but I am dreading the moment I do. I found out that you will have to send your camera to California for service and deal with all the trouble that my bring. I feel kind of cheated because I could have bought a Sony (which does have a service center on the island), but when I was researching the camera I forgot to consider the service. I guess its my fault for taking for granted that Panasonic would have a service here on the Island. Anyway, I love the camera, but if anyone on the island is considering a Panasonic buyer beware.
