Anyone want shoulder rig+follow focus for slightly more than $250

Interesting. Looks a little large. I'm looking for primarily tripod-mounted rig with good FF controls. I like those SNAP Lens rings on indiFocus system.

Generally none of FF on the market are suitable for VDSLR work.
You need to know history of FF and why they have such design.
I made few absolutely different design concepts, but did not find production firms who can do it yet.

Lego Follow Focus

Lego Follow Focus

I swear that follow-focus uses Lego Technic pieces.

Not that Lego hasn't been used for many interesting things, but....

Well, yes. I'm still waiting for your electronic FF for GH13 to hit the market :violin:
In the meanwhile, if you come across any decent FF system in your research please post. Thanks!

It is very long run.
We are not in ML situation then you have function with names like AF_Lens_SetPosition :-)

I mean quite simple hardware solution without electronics.
But much better system can be made using audio-in port and firmware sources :-)

Yes, I understand. And at such low-level there is probably a fairly high bricking risk. That problem with "lens not attached" patch is a good example. Alas, this would be quite elegant. Perhaps Panasonic themselves will realize there is a market for accessories like that. Not a large volume market, but small volume/large margin one. I would be surprised if material cost of IntuitFocus system is over $200. It retails for > $2,000. This is the same market that will pay for expensive auto-focus lenses. Maybe the broadcast division will debut something at AG100's launch.

Yeah, something simple/elegant/well-built along the lines of indiFocus stuff. If decent electronic FF systems are introduced, these could still be used for manual lenses. Frankly, I would buy their setup already if they answered my questions -- otherwise I'm reluctant.

Yes, it is very risky.
As I still don't get why we had problem with lens patch.

It is not hard to implement, in reality it is very easy.
Supply TXT file on SD with focus positions in centimeters from focal plane and press some button to go to next position in this text file.
This is how camera crew works.

Their snap gears are quite smart thing. But they have some flaws.
FF is just ordinal cheap FF. Not bad, but not very useful.
Normal FF design is made specially for dedicated focus puller and works not very good if you are one man band.
