Anybody have success with 3D on pair of GH1 or attempting 3D with pair of GH2 / AF100?
I've got two GH1's, both fitted with 20mm f1.7's, so I'm tempted to give it a shot this month if I upgrade to latest version of Vegas, which might make it easier. It just seems accurately syncing footage from the two would be difficult...but I'm sure someone here is doing it!
As for that Lumix 3D photo lens, I think it would be fun to play with, but that's about it. I don't have any use for 3D video or photo other than as a novelty item. If I had more time and more money to blow, I'd pick up the Panny 3D camcorder, just to play with around town, travel videos, etc. Looks like fun...maybe Santa will get me one for Xmas! HDC-SDT750
My only worry is that I might blow a really good video or photo opportunity because I was screwing around with my 3D cam, instead of getting a good quality still or video clip.![]()
....and are ineffective in low light... hence why I am possibly looking at a pair of GH2, but I do know syncing footage is the main issue in that case...
f12But I imagine they do that on purpose, since the GH1 (and the 3D camcorder) are geared towards the consumer market, so a shallower DOF might complicate things.
Heck, I'm off this week for a change, so if I drink enough Bud I might pull the trigger on a Vegas 10 upgrade for 3-D video, and see what I can do with the GH1+20mm X2 and a trip to Home Depot for bracketry. Maybe PluralEyes can nail a frame "clapboard" sync between the two cams, which seems like would be an issue with 3D. I've only played with 3D stills in the past, which is fun...although my eyes get sore from the cross-eyed method.I'd love to make an anaglyph home movie and watch with my red-blue glasses. One day on the street with your cam is way more educational than 12 months of reading internet forum posts. lol
