.... for their HD edit suite?

Intel Mac Pro w/Kona 3 card -> HDSDI out -> AJA Hi5 -> HDMI out -> consumer level LCD display, 1920x1080p native rez .

Interested in finding out how this has been working for you as a low-cost monitoring solution versus, say a Panasonic 17" monitor BT-LH1700W MSRP $3400 / B&H $2499.95.

Thanks in advance!

That's my exact setup, except the lcd display is my client monitor, I use the BT-LH1700w for my edit monitor, but after setup, my lcd looks pretty close to the panasonic.

cw,

What brand of LCD monitor are you using?
I assume you're using one Kona3 HDSDI output to drive the Hi5 and the other HDSDI to drive the panny monitor?
I believe the Hi5 has a "loop-thru" as well. Are you using that?
What about a simultaneous SD feed? Are you using the down-converted output off the Kona3 for anything?

Thanks

I do feed my panny monitor with the hdsdi out and a apple 30 inch cinema display mounted on the wall for clients with the other hdsdi out. I feed a downconverrted signal to an sd monitor also with the component out. Most clients want to see what the hd project will look like in sd.
