Anyone using the Varizoom DV Rig?

[Abaddon]

I've been looking into this as I need a support system.

I'm looking to attach a firestore, a Marshall monitor, zoom and focus controllers, and maybe someday a Brevis with a matte box, so I wanna be sure I have something that'll support all that.

Wondering if this is a good unit or if there's a better alternative for a descent price.

If you're talking about the DVRigPro, yes, it will take all that weight and then some.
You'll have to tweak the rig a bit though.
Here's a link to my rig and the modifications I did to it.

Hope this helps,

What does that puppy weigh?

Holy crap dude, that's quite a load.

On the Varizoom site, they say the DV Rig Pro is discontinued. The one they have on there now looks good but I'm wondering if it's as good/better and is capable of holding as much weight.

If you like, you can still order the DVRig Pro through the DVTec website. Or through EVS online.

But I'm wondering which one of these two are better.

Abaddon,

Call EVS and talk to Tommy or someone else in sales. They have stock of both and in their rental line as well..
