Anyone using the sennhieser EK 3241 in the Wirless slot of the 300

As I am new to fullsize cameras like the 300 I was looking for a good wireless mic system that worked well with the camera. I was hoping to use the wireless receiver slot at the rear of the camera. With that thought in mind has anyone used the Sennheiser EK 3241 with the 300? I'd love to hear if anyone is using this internally connecting receiver and what their thoughts are. Are their better products or perhaps receivers that work better with the 300?

Thanks

This looks good - when it says dual channel does that mean it can receive a signal from 2 transmitters/mics at the same time?

Yep - you sure can. I have the Lectro as well. Love it.

3 more questions -

1. Does it get its power from the camera (it looks rough to change 9volts when its screwed down like that)?

2. What transmitters and mics do you use.

3. What makes these work so well with the panasonic gear?

Thank you for lett'n me pick your brains.

#1 - yes - so there's no need to worry about a battery in the receiver.
#2 - I use an SMQV with a Tram TR-50 mic and an HM plug-on transmitter. It's a serious expenditure. I got the HM plug-on later since I couldn't afford all three pieces at once.
#3 - I think the Lectro stuff is just about the only choice for dual slot-in receivers.

Another Lectro user here - love it - worth every penny. In several months of fairly heavy usage, I have yet to experience even one dropout. I'm using it with the Lectro omni lav mic (M152) and have been quite pleased with the sound quality and ease of hiding it under clothing.

As for the cost, there's no question it's steep, but the Sennheiser is actually about the same price - and that's for single channel! I checked into all the options before choosing the Lectro; the least expensive slot-in option is from Azden (1200URXSI) and I heard nothing but really bad things about it.

Question 1: powered by camera battery.

Question 2: I'm using the LMa transmitters and the M152 lavaliers.

Question 3: Panasonic and Lectro worked closely with each other.

Anyways.. I'm really happy with 'em.

Another question arises as I think this through: Even though the receiver can bring in two different audio sources isn't it mixing the channels into one on the camera? The 300 only gets one channel via that wireless slot does it not. Therefore , both of the audio channels received are mixed down to one channel right? Is there a way to get the 2 separate channels through the receiver and into their own channels on the camera with no mixing?

Thanks for your patience with all my questions - I'm getting this sorted out.

Nope - it's two distinct transmitters that go to audio channels 1 and 2 individually (or you can send the audio to channels 3 or 4 as well.). As far as I can figure, this is the only way to truly get 4 channels of audio, since there are only 3 XLR inputs. I use the two wireless channels to one and two, and then a stereo mic to the rear XLRs for channels 3 and 4. You CAN set the Lectro SR receiver to join the two receivers into one channel, or you can use them independently

2 channels "Yes" .. that's the default .. on the audio in for 1 & 2, you choose the
middle position (W/L) one the 300. You can set dual or single channel
on the SRa receiver if you wish ..
