FS7: Anyone using the Loxia lenses with their FS7?

If so, how are you finding them, both mechanically and optically? How are they with a follow focus? How is the focus breathing?

I have a Leica R set and a modded Contax Zeiss set but fancied something native e mount as all my cameras are E mount now.

Any clips or examples would be great too.

I have the 35 and the 50 I realy like them I us them for interviews mainly. They both breathe I hav not tried FF yet but don't see any reason why it wouldn't work I've seen people use them with wireless FF on a movi with the a7s mechanics are great and I kike their size

Thanks for chiming in. Is the breathing on a par with other Zeiss glass or is it worse, like a lot of Canon L glass can be?

just throwing this out there: i got the 16-35 f4 sony/zeiss e mount mostly because i needed a stabilized wide lens on the FS7 and am really surprised how much i like it...i almost always shoot wide open and am honestly surprised with the optical performance as well as the look and feel....

I think the loxia are Great for shooters like me who do dich work Using Zooms 90% of the Time and Occasionaly slapping on a fast prime for an interview or a couple of controlled focus pulls. If you are working with primes more and operate in a predominately controlled envioriorment I would recommend cine modded

Is it focus by wire? Does it have hard stops?

focus by wire and no stops on the lens since it is a e mount....i am actually using the AF quite frequently....that and the stabilizer work really well....yes, i wish it was 2.8 but i believe the only lens available in that range (with AF and stabilizer) at 2.8 is the new tamron 15-30 which is getting rave reviews but it is twice the size and weight....and i am not sure how it would work with adapters and such....

Fair enough. I'm not interested in AF to be honest (I don't even use AF for stills on my A7s) and put a much higher priority on good manual focusing ability with a decent rotation.

I'm thinking maybe I should just stick with what I have, at least until Loxia has a wide angle and an 85mm out.

I read somewhere during NAB (and can't remember the source now), that a wide angle loxia was in the works for release by end of year...
