Anyone using the JVC LS300 - how does it compare to the C100?

I shot an interview two weeks ago that I would love to show you, but I am prohibited contractually. The subject was shot against a picture window in the background which was overlooking Harvard Business School. The foliage on the trees and the bokeh really looked nice.

Here is a link to a wedding sample. All of the footage is the LS300 except for the tripod mounted back camera at the ceremony (which is a Panasonic GH4). Lenses used on the camera were the Panasonic 12-35 and the Panasonic 14-140. I was shooting on a monopod.

Nice work. I was wondering if you use any scene files when you shot on both cameras

Same question. Purchased a LS300 and Olympus 12-40 lens Monday at B&H. Should receive it today or tomorrow. My next lens purchase will be the Olympus 40-150. These two lenses should cover most of my needs.

B&H shipped the lens and camera separately. Received the lens. Was notified by UPS the package with the camera body is missing. Bummer. Was planning to use the camera on a shoot next week. Notified B&H.

Thanks for the kind words thinkgines, and congrats on ordering the camera and lens nutmegger. I hope they find your package.

Honestly, since getting the camera back in April, I have had little free time to experiment with it. I have mostly been shooting HD 1080 24p, 50M (XHQ) Quicktime files. I believe that was the setting for the wedding sample. For processing, I chose "Cinema Vivid" for Color Matrix and "Natural" for WDR.

For corporate jobs, I have used ITU709 for Color Matrix. I have used 50M YUV422 Bit Rate, 30p and 60p Frame Rates, and one wedding I shot in AVCHD. I shot my first wedding in 4K last month, which I still have to edit - hopefully my system will handle it!

I was hoping that JVC would add external 10 bit recording as part of the latest firmware update. But unfortunately, they did not. They added 4K 60/50P external recording.

Internal recording is 8 bit 4:2:0.

Finally received the LS300. Contacted UPS who said they have no record of the camera being delivered. Let UPS figure it out.
Question on the camera's tripod mount. On page 27 of the instruction manual it indicates a 3/8-16 or 1/4-20 screw may be used to mount the camera to a tripod plate. The camera has a 1/4-20 insert in what appears to be the screw hole for a 3/8-16 screw. Has anyone removed the 1/4-20 insert and uses a 3/8-16 screw? The other hole appears to be for a pin registration on the tripod plate.

I have only used the 1/4-20 mounting hole on my camera, which is sufficient. The other hole is for a pin. I had not noticed that the manual indicates that it's a 1/4-20 insert, and that 3/8-16 screw can be used. Maybe it is different on the newer cameras, but there doesn't appear to be any way to use a 3/8-16 screw on mine (I purchase it new last April).
