Anyone using the Hague Stabiliser & Follow Focus?

Hey,

I've been using my D90 for live music (vimeo.com/channels/ema if you're interested in some examples) as I want something good but small so I can carry it easily.

I'm tempted to get a Hague Stabiliser and Follow Focus and was wondering if anyone's use them together? And is it even possible without support etc?

As naturally if it works it could be good!

you mean a wireless follow focus? the camera is already almost too heavy and to mount the ff you need rods, plus the receiver isn't that light either, so i don't think it will work.

hello .. i own the stabilizer and borrowed the D90 for a day from work , but it was too heavy to balance on the hague (Mini Motion-Cam) Hague do make larger versions for heavier cams though.

cool... i didn't dare add more as i'd just got it and the camera wasn't mine and i've had previous expensive incident when a camera fell off one of my not-quite-a-steadicam experiments :embarasse eager to try it with the GH-1 though when that appears !!!

Ah so it can fit with extra weight eh? Excellent.

Is there no way one can attach a FF without rails? Say connect it to the camera then sufficiently support it some way else.

In my head I'm imagining holding the Hague by the grip in my right hand, with the D90 on the top, then the left hand holding the FF wheel focusing.

I suppose image wise it reminds me of an 8mm camera look a like.

you can't use a regular follow focus when on a steadicam, it has to be wireless. even slightly touching the camera will throw it off balance.
