Anyone using body armour?

At this stage I could only locate the Porta Brace online and there are no pictures anywhere.

About to head off to Japan for a month shooting and not 100% on the conditions so I feel I need some protection.

Anyone got one?

Not for my camera, but I do own a level II vest with level III plate armor for when I visit bad places.

Heh very good. Now. Camera armour. The old portabrace armour for say the HMC150, not a fan of the way it sits over everything like a jacket thats 2 sizes too big. I liked the Kata on my hpx500. Was kind of hoping one person may have used the portabrace to answer some questions.

Yes, much better IMO - just need one purpose built for the AF100. Look at the first one on that page compared to the porta brace version for the same camera. I know what I prefer.

If you just need a tight amour or camera glove, why not get some ballistic nylon and neoprene and DIY?

The patterns are not that complicated from what I saw on the KaTa and Portabrace models.
Ask someone with an industrial sewing machine, like a sail maker or the like.
If you make a pattern before, they could stitch it together in no time for a song and a dance.

Personally I always prefer custom made stuff, but that´s not for everybody.
