Quick update, since no one had any advice I thought Id buy it & try it- it retails for less than $200. I just threw it into my Media Composer 6 and the thing worked perfectly. [This is the system that Upgraded to Win 7, which effectively was the death blow to my Adrenaline Breakout]. I really just want the unit to drive a monitor, when I have time I will test out the Component In. Thus far, for the money this is a no-brainer.
Panny BT-LH1700 via component input works beautifully. Frankly, I think this unit out performs the more expensive MXO2 Mini I have on my other Avid 6 system [Note the mxo2 mini rocked with mc 553, not so much with early editions of mc6].
I did a really quick test with the Intensity Pro and captured from a Beta SP tape into the unit Y/C. It captured flawlessly. My MXO2 mini had issues capturing a beta sp tape [although Ive not rechecked since I updated the driver].
After a week of editing I should note back that there is one notable limitation to this card. The card seems to need a second to load its frame buffer when working with audio. CAPS LOCK + ARROW does not work as smoothly as it should to step thru audio. This can be slightly annoying if you're trying to edit a word out (its hard to get exact frames- stepping forward a frame at a time). However, for video it works just fine (frame by frame) or if your just laying in VO/MUSIX/SFX...
