Anyone using any "portable storage" devices?

I start shooting a low-down feature in a few weeks, and one of my concerns is a fool proof and safe way to dump cards on set. I'll have a dedicated PA for this task, but.. well.. having said that, I wont be very comfortable.

I'm thinking of picking up a Photo Safe II with a 250GB drive....

My purpose is to use this device as a card reader (to dump cards to my laptop), as well as have it keep a copy of the card on it's internal drive, so that while I'm shooting I've always got two copies of cards before they get erased. At this point I'll be using 16GB cards because I am also concerned about corruption issues and the effect of loosing a day's worth of work on (1) 64 GB card.

Anyone ever use one of these, or perhaps another brand? I'm coming from P2 land, which was very stable and manageable. I'm sure CF cards will be too, but it's new to me, so I'm curious what the best method is when shooting with a skeletal crew.

This device looks like it might do the trick...

Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts....

Thanks!

I bought a 128GB Nexto DI eXtreme Pro. Solid state, no moving parts, great battery life, USB and eSATA outputs. One button, no screen.

Advantages:

If, heaven forbid, you ever encountered a corrupted card, you would at least know in the field that you have a problem.

The increased speed in downloading to a computer using eSATA vs USB is a tremendous timesaver.

With this thing and a couple of fast cards you can shoot all day, or use a fistful of cards and have an additional backup.:
